As standard all Drorpacks products comes with connecting bars that sets the mounting osition 85,0 cm apart (33,46 inches).

We have a few selected kit lengths for various popular car models.

You can cut down the longest kit to fit a specific car model

Our longest kit is made for a Fixed mounting point distance of 144,5 cm which is equal to the distance between the first and third row of the Volkswagen Transporter T5 and T6.

How to cut and machine the bars to fit a shorter distance

Step 1

Measure
Put the clamps on roof and meassure from top of the clamps, center-center to figure out the distance, “X”

Step 2

Calculate the “cut-off”:
Cut-off = Kit Length – X

Step 3

Cut off the extensive lengths:
The extensive pieces will have the same length.
The bars you keep will still have the same lengths reative to eachother, as seen in the photo below:

In the photo above, a kit of 144,5 cm has been cut to fit 122,0 cm.
The cutof length is 22,5 cm in this example.

Step 4

Drill new holes:
Make new holes in the cut ends.

In the following video, a set Fix Point connecting bars for VW Transporter (144,5 cm) is used. This fits Dropracks to the first and third row installartion position.
